Srinagar Sept 03 (KNO) : During the cordon and search operation of about eighteen villages of Pulwama district by the Indian forces, the people under siege were subjected to severe hardships and no one was allowed to move out.

A number of innocent youth were ruthlessly beaten and the peaceful protestors were indiscriminately fired upon by these merciless forces personnel resulting in the death of a 22 year old Fayaz Ahmad Wani S/o Mohammad Ahsan Wani R/o Chewa Kalan and grievous injuries to many others out of whom some have been admitted in different hospitals in critical conditions.

The oppressed people of the valley in particular that of the South Kashmir are facing the worst treatment at the hands of these merciless forces personnel and living like the hired slaves.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir while strongly condemning this barbarism of the Indian forces which tantamount to state terrorism, expresses its anguish over the meaningful silence of the world community and impresses upon the international and local human rights organizations to take concrete and effective cognizance of these worst human rights violations instead of issuing mere statements which have utterly failed to contain these violations.

Jama’at also appeals Organization of Islamic Countries to come forward for the safeguard of lacs of Kashmiris facing terrible genocide at the hands of these unruly forces.
