Srinagar Sept 05 (KNO) : The police today flexed muscles on the protesting SSA teachers who boycotted Teachers Day function here while as the Advisor to Governor, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai assured that the issues of SSA teachers needs a humane look.

The teachers are on indefinite hunger strike from past three days while as another faction of teachers observed Teachers Day as Black Day and staged protest at Sher-i-Kashmir Park on Wednesday.

The teachers are at war path with the state government from past several months for its decision not to include them in the benefits of 7th pay commission.

The previous PDP-led coalition government implemented 7th pay commission for all state employees except SSA teachers, head teachers and RMSA masters. The move enraged the teachers who are continuously hitting streets to press for their demands.
