BHADERWAH,SEPT 08 (KNO) : Timely response from a doctor and medical team of the Indian Army ( 4 RR ) saved the life of a pilgrim of the Kailash Kund Yatra in Bhaderwah when she suffered a heart attack during Yatra . Patient was identified as Asha Devi resident of Bhadarwah who had a cardiac arrest while in midway while coming back from Kailash yatra.
Without wasting time Indian Army led by CO 4 RR Col D D Panday send a rescue team under a Junior Commissioned Officer Risaldar Ashok Kumar and Nursing Assistant Naik Pankaj Kumar to evacuate the patient at the earliest to Chattargala area Base.The rescue team climbed the treacherous mountainous terrain with all life support medical equipment's , oxygen cylinder and medicines and reached the incident site in next one and half hour. Asha Devi was diagnosed with a heart attack and was immediately provided medical help and was also immediately given oxygen and medication and evacuated to Chattargala base after travelling a distance of 3.5 kilometers.
The brave act of army saved the life of the lady pilgrim.The patient was stabilised and referred to the sub-district hospital at Bhaderwah in the ambulance where he is responding to treatment and recovering.
