Arrest of Kashmiri youth by Delhi Police vendetta : Geelani | KNO

Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

Srinagar, September 8 (KNO) : Strongly condemning the arrest of two Kashmiri engineering students at the hands of Delhi Police, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani termed their incarceration as a worst example of vendetta and a ploy to intimidate the student fraternity engaged in their studies in Indian educational institutions.

Terming the police action as a deliberate attempt to spoil the future of student community of Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat chairman said that scores of such cases can be cited as an example of involving the Kashmiri based students in fictitious cases wherein they were acquitted by the courts of law after a long trail of 15 to 16 years of ordeal when they were languishing in different jails of India.

Regretting the injustice caused by the delaying tactics and denial of speedy trail, Hurriyat leader quoting the proverb that a wearer knows where the shoe pinches, asked that is there any court of law which may renovate the prime of the youth to such persons after spending 15 years in illegal imprisonment and then declare them not guilty.

Extending his gratitude and rich tributes to the unwavering commitment and resolve displayed by the young Hurriyat leader Masrat Aalam Bhat, Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Geelani regretted the denial of justice to the prisoners of conscience belonging to the resistance movement of Kashmir.

Slapping of public safety act for the 36th time on Masrat Aalam Bhat has created a history of non compliance of the judicial orders at the hands of occupation administration. Syed Ali Geelani urged the United Nation Human Rights Commission and other recognized institutions to take serious notice of the plight of prisoners languishing in and outside the state jails and take Masarat Aalam’s case as a sample injustice and lawlessness.
