Srinagar, September 13, 2018 (KNO) : All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani in a statement paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Handwara and Sopore and expressed hope that the people of the state keeping in view the precious sacrifices given by our youth shall lead the ongoing resistance movement to its logical destination.

Reiterating his fervent appeal to the freedom loving people of Sopore and Zainageer to observe a complete shutdown on Friday 14 September and pay tributes to martyr Hakeem-ur-Rehman Sultani. Terming the martyr Sultani as a great son of soil, the Hurriyat Chairman said that he will always be remembered as a staunch supporter and an eloquent orator who served Tehreek-e-Hurriyat as a humble Tehsil President.

The Hurriyat Leader once again shared his deep and hearty condolences with the parents of Shaheed Hakeem-ur-Rehman especially with his widow and five daughters and prayed for his heavenly abode and eternal peace.

Condemning his brutal killing at the hands of Indian agencies the Hurriyat leader alleged that it has been a part of Indian plot for selective killings to build up tremendous pressure on the political leadership belonging to resistance movement of Kashmir. Such intriguing and vile acts of repression have failed in the past to bend the leadership and in future any such pressure tactics by India shall meet its own end, Hurriyat chairman said.

Taking a pledge not to surrender before the Indian military might used in full swing to suppress the resistance sentiments of the people, the Hurriyat leader reiterated its commitment to continue the struggle for achieving right to self-determination even at the cost of his life, added the statement. Srinagar, September 13, 2018: All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani condemned the rude and inhuman behaviour of the police authorities meted out to the incarcerated youth brought from various jails to appear before the court of District Judge Kulgam on the date of their hearing.

Blaming the authorities not permitting the family members including their aged parents and minor children to meet their near and dear ones within the court premises, Hurriyat leader termed it as a worst form of revenge against the detainees. Regretting the silence displayed by the learned Judges on this inhuman behaviour of the police authorities, Hurriyat leader said it is a great tragedy with reference to the rights of the prisoners violated by the law enforcement institutions and an example of non compliance of United Nations Human Rights declaration.
