Srinagar (KNO) : At the opening ceremony of Jamia Masjid Muradpora Shopian, Jama’at-e-Islami chief Dr. Abdul Hameed Fayaz discussed the present situation faced by the Muslim Ummah and urged the people to follow the Islamic teachings in letter and spirit and propagate and practice the Islamic principles, keeping away the differences among the different schools of thought regarding secondary issues.

He further stressed upon following the divine model of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to get rid of the infighting among the Ummah and propagate the message therein with full zeal among the common masses.

While highlighting the disputed nature of the Kashmir issue, he appealed both the governments of India and Pakistan to start productive negotiations in communion with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, being the primary party to find an amicable and just solution of this long pending human problem which will help to put a brake on the ongoing bloodshed of the innocent people.

In this regard, he also reiterated the stand of Jama’at that it desires a peaceful and stable resolution of all such conflicts in accordance with the aspirations of the concerned people and never likes any damage to the person and property of the innocent people who become the victims due to non-resolution of these issues.
