Srinagar, September 17 (KNO) : Paying rich tributes to Martyrs of Kulgam Qazigund, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani today said “our youth lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation and for right to self-determination.

In a telephonic address to mourners, Hurriyat chairman paid glorious tributes to martyred youth Raouf Ahmad Gani and reiterated his pledge to take the ongoing movement to its logical end. We will never allow any body to barter with the precious blood of martyrs, said Syed Ali Geelani.

We need to be aware of this and we are duty bound to safe guard their sacrifices and should desist from such activities which prove harmful for our movement, added Syed Ali Geelani. Hailing the sacrifices rendered by youth, Hurriyat chairman said that their blood is precious than Haram-e-Paak and the people who bargain these sacrifices for their personnel gains are those traitors who betray their milli interests and will definitely get punished for such deeds in hereafter. He further said that aggressive measures by occupying forces, luring the youth with jobs, perks and privileges will never succeed in deterring us from pursuing our cause.

Syed Ali Geelani said that for the last 71 years our nation has rendered unparalleled sacrifices, thousands were caged and brutally tortured, properties worth billions razed to ground and looted, and sexual assault and rape used as war weapon, but India has not been able to suppress our emotions with this brutality. Syed Ali Geelani asked youth to remain cautious about the sinister designs of anti-movement elements and urged people to boycott upcoming elections, exhibit steadfastness and keep away from these sham elections. He said participation in these elections is tantamount to “treason with the blood of martyrs”.

“Indian authorities are misleading world community by portraying people’s participation in elections as a verdict in their favour,” he said. It is prerequisite to convey a strong message to world community that we pursue a cherished mission of freedom and in no way, justify, defend or favour these elections, said Syed Ali Geelani. Appealing people to boycott every election, be it Panchayat, Assembly or Parliament, Hurriyat chairman said that “it provides Indian leadership an opportunity for changing the demography and discourse of Jammu and Kashmir, state subject law and economic exploitation.

The people who participate in these elections are not sincere and they just play with the sentiments of the people for their petty gains, Syed Ali Geelani added. Meanwhile on the directions Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Geelani a high level delegation headed by General Secretary Gh. Nabi Sumji including Rafiq Ahmad Ganie, Yasmeen Raja, Gazi Manzoor, Arshad Ahmad, Ashiq Hussain and Sajad Ahmad visited the residences of Martyrs of Kulgam Qazigund and paid rich tributes to the martyrs. Addressing the gathering at Fatehpora and Aanchdora the Hurriyat leaders while condoling and consoling the families of the martyrs urged the people to rise to the occasion and safeguard the sacrifices of our martyrs by observing a complete election boycott.

Meanwhile Paying tributes to Shaheed Aijaz Dar on his 30th martyrdom anniversary, Syed Ali Geelani said that he was a great warrior and a front line solider in freedom movement. Syed Ali Geelani prayed for speedy recovery of ailing Haji GM Dar, father of slain commander.
