Advisors Ganai, Kumar review preparations for board exams | KNO

Foolproof arrangements in place for class 10th, 11th, 12th exams

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 27 (KNO) : Advisorsto Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai and K Vijay Kumar today chaired a high-level meeting to review the preparations for the smooth and hassle-free conduct of annual examinations (Oct-Nov session) 2018 for classes of 10th, 11th and 12th in Kashmir province and winter zone of Jammu division.

Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Principal Secretary Home R K Goyal, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmed Khan, Inspector General Police Kashmir zone, S P Pani, Secretary Education Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chairperson JKBOSE, Veena Pandita, Director School Education Kashmir Dr G N Itoo, Secretary JKBOSE, Riyaz Ahmed and other officers attended the meeting along Deputy Commissioners from Kashmir division who attended it through video-conferencing. Similarly, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verm, Director School Education JammuRakesh Kumar Sarangal, Deputy Commissioners from Jammu division also attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The examination dates for annual exams of class 12 has been finalized as October 22 while as October 24 and 26 have been fixed for start of class 10th and 11th annual exams respectively. The Advisors expressed their optimism that meticulous exercise has been carried out to identify the best people required to do the job. Advisor Ganai said that invigilators and the selected staff should be aware well in advance regarding their assignments so that they would be ready to deliver the best during the examinations. He instructed that the deployment roaster of duties to designated staff should be shared with the respective Divisional Commissioner's office to ensure that there is no confusion of allotted works at any point of time. Besides, the Advisor also asked to ensure there is surplus staff designated for that job so that in case of any sort of exigency, the same could be used.

The Advisor instructed the Directors of School Education Kashmir and Jammu to put an immediate stop on holding of any sort of cultural event, especially annual day functions till the examinations are completed. He said the teachers should spend whatever, time is at their disposal in addressing the queries or any kind of student confusions by taking additional classes. Ganai directed that any staff against whom any sort of complaint has been registered in previous years should not be repeated this time. Besides, Chairperson JKBOSE, DESK, DESJ and other concerned were directed to visit various districts to inoculate the concerned officials regarding their duties and to ensure there is no instance of copying at any centre.

On the occasion, Advisor K Vijay Kumar emphasized on the need for having coordination at grass root level so that problems if any could be minutely examined. Similarly, Chief Secretary also stressed for conducting of fair examinations so that the students could get their due reward for their hard work. Earlier, the Secretary Education informed the meeting that this year 2, 38,000 students are going to appear in all the three exams in entire Kashmir division along with four districts in Jammu. Giving breakup of the students appearing for three annual exams, the Secretary revealed that for 10th standard 77,000 students would be appearing this year, while as for 11th standard 79,000 students are sitting in the exam. Likewise, for 12th standard exams 81,000 students are sitting for the exams.(KNO)
