Srinagar, September 29 (KNO) : The students of class 11th on Saturday staged a demonstration here in Srinagar against Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) for announcing their examinations for ending October.

The students assembled at Press colony and raised slogans against the BOSE authorities. Demanding deferment of their examinations till mid-November, the students carrying banners and placards accused BOSE officials of putting career of students at stake.

The protesting students said that BOSE officials are playing with their career, adding that they are yet to complete their syllabus and announcing examination dates at this juncture would prove disastrous for the students. The students demanded that they must be given proper time for the preparation of examinations, saying that until and unless they get proper time they can’t be able to appear in the examinations. Earlier, the BOSE scheduled the annual exams for class 10, 11 and 12th from last week of October.

However, the protesting students threatened to protest in case their demands are not met, saying that if government didn’t reschedule the date sheet then they will hit the street to press for their demand. They added that holding examinations should not be a formality, saying that the authorities keeping in view of incomplete syllabus must give sufficient time to the students for the preparation. “We will boycott the examinations in case date sheet is not rescheduled,” they threatened, urging the higher ups to look into the matter and fulfill their demands soon.(KNO)
