Thousands attend funeral prayers of slain Pulwama militant | KNO

Srinagar, October 13 (KNO) : Thousands of people on Saturday participated in the funeral prayers of a slain militant, Shabir Ahmad Dar who was killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Babagund area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. According to (KNO) correspondent, the funeral prayers of the slain militant who was affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen were held at his native village of Samboora in Pulwama district. Earlier in a day, one militant was killed while another had sustained injuries during the gunfight. The injured militant is being treated at Srinagar’s SMHS hospital where his condition is stated to be very critical. Soon after the killing of Shabir Ahmad Dar, thousands of people from different parts gathered at Samboora to participate in his last rites. After three rounds of funerals, Dar was interred at his ancestral graveyard amid pro-freedom slogans. Meanwhile, witnesses said that the militants also appeared during his funeral and offered gun salute to their slain fellow militant.(KNO)
