Srinagar, October 15 (KNO) : Life in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district returned to normal on Monday after four consecutive days of shutdown, protests, clashes and internet gag.The district observed complete shutdown for the four consecutive days to mourn the death of PhD scholar-turned-militant, Dr Manan Bashir Wani and his associate who were killed in an encounter between government forces at Shartgund Langate on Thursday. According to (KNO) correspondent, reports said that, all the business establishments reopened after a gap of four days across district Kupwara including the native places of two slain militants Tikipora Lolab and Langate. The traffic also plied on the roads normally. However, all the educational institutions remained closed for fifth consecutive day including Sunday as ‘a precautionary measure'. The district administration had ordered closure of all educational institutions on Monday as well. Local sources said that, a large number of people from Kupwara and other parts of the valley visited the slain militant’s home in Tikipora to pay homage and console the family members of PhD scholar-turned-militant. Meanwhile, 2G internet services were restored in the district on Monday afternoon but the high speed mobile internet is still barred in the district.(KNO)
