Srinagar, October 16 (KNO) : Clashes erupted between youth and forces in Soura area of Srinagar during the ongoing Urban Local Bodies (ULB) polls. Reports reached to (KNO) that scores of youth took to streets and started throwing pelting stones on forces near polling booth in Soura area. Forces as per reports used tear gas canisters to disperse the agitating youth. Meanwhile, the areas going for polls today are observing a complete shutdown against the ongoing polls.
The shutdown call was given by JRL, a joint amalgam of pro-freedom leaders here against the ongoing polls. All the shops, business establishments are closed while as traffic are also thin on the roads.Besides, the railway authorities have also suspended the train services from Baramulla to Banihal here.Meanwhile, mobile internet speed in central and south Kashmir was reduced today as ‘precautionary measure’.(KNO)
