Inaugurates Dialysis Unit at District Hospital

Kargil, October 18 (KNO) : Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar on Thursday took stock of the developmental and security scenario in Kargil during his day long visit to the district. During the visit, the Advisor inaugurated Dialysis Unit at District Hospital, Kargil and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients in the Hospital. Advisor held separate meetings with the local representatives, civil and police administration and met several public delegations including Imam Khumaini Memorial Trust, Kargil and students of Government Degree College, Kargil to have first hand information about the developmental issues of the area.The Advisor also convened a high-level meeting to take stock of the developmental scenario in the district. Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, Executive Councilor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Nasir Munshi, Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain, Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (LAHDC), Kargil, Vikas Kundal, Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Dr Vinod Kumar, senior officers of police and civil administration attended the meeting. Deputy Commissioner while making a detailed presentation regarding the developmental profile of the district, informed the meeting that various initiatives have been taken by the district administration to develop key sectors including Health, R&B etc. He also briefed the meeting about the physical and financial achievements registered in the current fiscal till date.A detailed discussion was also held on enhancement in released funds for Development of Council infrastructure, transfer of Degree College from District Plan to State Plan and special package for development of tourism sector and development of International Hockey Ice Playing Field. The Executive Councillors put forth various issues which need intervention of the Government including enhancement of funds under NHM, formulating of transfer policy for the persons belonging to district Kargil working in other districts in the Police Department, early filling up of vacant posts of Doctors and paramedical staff in Health Department, creation of the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police for district Kargil, providing of adequate funds for heating system in health institutions during the winter session and providing of bus service for M T School. The Advisor assured the meeting that the vacancies in Health Department in the district Kargil would be filled shortly. He said that Governor’s Administration is committed to providing better basic amenities to the people of the State.Asking for ensuring prompt delivery of services to people, the Advisor stressed for being more responsive towards people of the district and to address the people’s grievances properly.Earlier, the Advisor held a meeting with senior police officers to discuss the overall law and order scenario in the district. The SP briefed the Advisor about the overall security scenario in the area. Detailed discussions were held on requirements of District Police Kargil, shortage of manpower besides future plans like the creation of new police Sub Division for Zanskar and Drass and upgradation of police stations at Wakha and Sankoo.The Advisor said that the sense of security among the people is very essential for the development process and expressed satisfaction over the working of various Departments in the district. He stressed for maintaining close coordination between people and the police.A delegation of Imam Khumaini Memorial Trust, Kargil also met the Advisor and put forth various demands including Air Service on daily basis during the winter session. The Advisor gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into.(KNO)
