Srinagar, October 25 (KNO): Hurriyat Conference (M) paid tributes to the two armed youth killed in Kreeri, Baramulla encounter and two more killed in Arwani, Bijbhera gunfight with the government forces. In a statement issued to KNO, Hurriyat (M) said, “every day’s dance of death has exposed the GoI’s real face in Kashmir as state terrorism is on a full display with forces making the killing of Kashmiri youth under operation all-out as their regular feature.” Hurriyat (M) said that “the ultimate repression is also on to push the youth of Kashmir to wall and leave them with no choice other than to choose armed means of resistance as their weapon to fight the occupation.”It said that “while has priceless sacrifices are being offered by the youth of Kashmir on all fronts, the GoI leaves no stone unturned to unleash the reign of terror by killing, maiming and thrashing the youth under the garb of CASO and instead of accepting the ground realities in Kashmir, the GoI is dealing with the situation through its military might to instil fear among the people and to force them into submission.” “Of late, the situation has taken an ugly turn given the unabated increase in the killings, thrashing of youth and anti-people activities by the forces which is a great cause of concern,” Hurriyat (M) said, adding that peace won’t prevail in the region unless the Kashmir dispute is settled as per the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir. Hurriyat (M) strongly denounced the continuous house detention of its chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence since past three weeks as ‘a worst political vendetta’, stating that he is not even able to carry out his social, religious and political activities. The statement said that the continuous house confinement of Mirwaiz can’t break the resolve of resistance leadership and instead it would further strengthen their resolve to fight against oppression. It said that the arrest of many youth in nocturnal raids by the forces in Shopian that include Niyaz Ahmed Dar, Shabir Ahmed Sheikh Jehangir Ahmed Mir, Bilal Ahmed Dar, Showkat Ahmed Dar, Asif Ahmed Pal, Zaffar Fayaz, Muzamil Ahmed Sheikh and others, deserves all condemnation stating that using iron-fist policy against the youth will in no way resolve the issue and instead further deteriorate the situation.(KNO)
