Srinagar October 26 (KNO): J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Friday expressed surprise over lack of preparedness of the Govt of holding Panchayat Elections without looking into the facilities required for participation in the elections. According to the statement issued to KNO, JKPCC also expressed surprise over the non-availability of the Electoral rolls required by the Parties, emphasizing that Political Parties must be provided Electoral Rolls to ensure their participation in the upcoming Panchayat Elections. The JKPCC Spokesperson in a Statement has expressed serious concern over the lack of facilities required for participating in Panchayat Elections, saying that the Election department so far has failed to provide Electoral Rolls to the Parties. He said, as reported the Electoral rolls will be provided on payment basis, which is not only surprising but unfortunate, as that, it is the responsibility of the Government to provide complete set of electoral rolls, but unfortunately, the Government seems to have failed on this count. He said before conduct of Panchayat Election Government has to provide facilities to political parties required for Panchayat Elections and there should not be any loophole while initiating process of Elections in the State, he added and emphasized the Governor Administration to ensure electoral rolls to Parties, besides other facilities required for greater participation in the upcoming Panchayat Elections.(KNO)
