Kashmiri student Assaulted in Chandigarh sustained injuries, hospitalised | KNO

Srinagar, October 27 (KNO) : Kashmiri students continuously face wrath in various universities and colleges outside state. In a same incident Kashmiri student identified as Mubashir Matto Last year Engineering Student of Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jangeeri was allegedly ruthlessly beaten by some Goons. Mubashir was taken to nearby hospital for treatment. The incident happened at rented flat of Mudasir during night at TDI City. He said that some Goons knocked me down and started punching on my face and stomach and hitting on my knees. They thrashed me with Iron rods and knives, I was beaten to pulp, he added. i tried to escape from my flat but I could not, he added. We are being threatened, beaten for no reason. Our only problem is that we are Kashmiri, he added. Several Kashmiri students who are Friends of the victim, while Talking with KNO said that they approached to police in this regard. Pertinently mentioned that Such incidents happened in the past, when Kashmiri students across the country have been attacked. When Contacted with Concerned Police official, Mahender Singh, he said we have taken Cognizance of the incident and Investigation is the incident is currently underway. The Kashmiri students complained that they were being continuously harassed by the local students which have created apprehensions of further attacks on them. Meanwhile, parents of the Kashmiri students urged the state government for its intervention to ensure safety of their kids in the Chandigarh.(KNO)
