Police seized 40 illegal rice bags in Hajin, accused arrested | KNO

Hajin, October 27 (KNO) : Police Saturday raided the house of a man and recovered 40 bags of rice in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. A police official told KNO that after receiving inputs, a police party led by SHO Hajin Muneeb-ul-Islam raided the house of one Javaid Yousuf Malik at Gulshan Abad Hajin area of Sonawari and recovered 40 bags of rice. The official said that rice bags procured from some employees of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department by this man were kept in the house for sale in black market. Javaid Yousuf Malik, the accused has been arrested and a formal case has been lodged. “We are investigating the matter and prima facie it seems being the neighbour of a ration store-keeper, the accused procured rice bags from him,” he said adding that investigation has been set into motion. Today upon a reliable information regarding black marketing of Govt Rice, A a team of police station Hajin led by SHO Police Station Hajin Shri Muneeb Ul Islam under the supervision of DySp Hajin Shri Mubashir Rasool conducted a raid at the house of Javeed Ahmad Malik S/o Mohammed Yousuf Malik R/O Gulshan abad Hajin and recovered around 30 quintals of Rice and the same has been seized and the accused have been arrested on spot.In this connection FIR has been registered in police station Hajin under relevant sections of law. The general public has highly appreciated this police action against black marketers .(KNO)
