Sopore, October 28 (KNO) : Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted here on Sunday at Zaloora village in Sopore town here in North Kashmir.
Local sources told KNO that forces launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Zaloora village, however locals hit the streets and pelted rocks on the forces triggering clashes. They said that forces fired tears smoke shells and stun grenades to disperse the stone pelting protesters.
Clashes were going on when reports last came in. Search operation was going on when this report was being filed. Earlier forces including 22 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and SOG wing of Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Zaloora area following the presence of militants in the area. A Police Official Confirmed about the CASO in the area said that Cordon and Search Operation was launched after reports about the presence of militants in the area.(KNO)
