Kupwara, October 30 (KNO) : Authorities in northern Kashmirs kupwara district have sanctioned a period of three days to elect one among the elected ward members of Langate municipal for the post of presidential ship after no name was announced for the post on eve of oath taking ceremony on Tuesday. Reports reaching KNO that, At Municipal council Langate all the elected 11 ward Members haven’t till date named a single person for the post of presidential ship post ever since they were notified about the oath ceremony.It’s worth mention here that at Langate municipal council only 11 wards were in poll fray leaving two wards deserted as none had filed the nomination papers. Three BJP candidates have also won the ULB polls at their respective wards of Langate municipal council including three female candidates as well. On the eve of oath taking ceremony today it was decided to give an ultimatum of three days to the elected members to come up with a conclusion so that oath taking ceremony will be held in coming days, officials from Municipal committee said. District election officer Khalid Jahangir said that as per the norms we will dealt with the municipal council Langate, accordingly the administration will act.(KNO)
