Amid pro-freedom slogans, slain JeM militant laid to rest in Tral | KNO

Tral, October 31 (KNO) : Large number of people participated in the funeral prayers of slain JeM militant in Hundoora area of Tral in Pulwama district. Identified as Showkat Ahmad Khan, Son of Gh Nabi Khan, resident of Hundoora village in Tral, slain militant was killed in an encounter with forces at Chan Kitar village of this sub division, with his foreign aide identified as Usman Hyder. Eyewitnesses told KNO that soon after the body of Showkat reached his native village, people from nook and corner of Tral assembled and participated in the funeral prayers amid pro-freedom slogans. After several rounds of funeral prayers the said militant was later laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Hundoora Tral. To protest the killings of both the militants, spontaneous shutdown is being observed in Tral and Awantipora areas. All the shops and other business establishments are closed while public transport is off the roads besides that Internet services are suspended in the area.(KNO)
