Amid Clashes,Thousands attend last rites of Slain Sopore Militant | KNO

Sopore, November 02 (KNO) : Thousands of people participated in the last rites of Militant killed in a brief Exchange of Gunfire at Sagipora Handwara area of Kupwara district in North Kashmir. Local sources told KNO that Soon after his bidy reached his home, people in thousands from the area were present who raised pro-militant and anti-India slogans. Eyewitnesses informed KNO that shortly after the culmination of funeral prayers clashes erupted in Arampora area of Sopore town between Govt forces and protesters. Youth pelted stones on deployed forces who retaliated with tear smoke shells and pellets. All the shops and business establishments remained shut while educational institutions didn’t function in wake of the Restrictions and Shutdown. Skeletal movement of transport was observed on the roads. Earlier on Thrusday late evening, Army calimed that they have killed Tahreekul Mujahedeen Militant after brief exchange of gunfire. Earlier Forces fired tear gas shells on the funeral of slain Militant. Eye witnesses said that forces fired tear gas shells into the mourners at injuring many of them.(KNO)
