Srinagar, November 03 (KNO) : A Kashmiri student, who had gone missing after assaulted inside the Campus Sharda University has reportedly joined ISJK outfit as his picture posing calmly with what looked like a grenade with background of ISIS banners has gone viral on social media. Family members of the student Ethisham, from Khanyar area of Srinagar district said that he has not returned home despite an appeal from his mother. Ethisham was studying Medical Imaging Technology Sharda University in Dehli who left his hostel on 27th October and has been missing since then. An uncle, Nisar Ahmad said Ethisham did not get home and they found his cellphone switched off after he called home on September 27th. The family, he said, lodged a missing complaint after failing to contact him. A photo of Ethisham has been circulated widely on social media. Earlier on Monday, a video Went Viral on social media, showing Ehtisham’s photograph with ISIS flag and also talking about how he was beaten up in Sharda University Dehli. This is a message to all who consider Jihad is a way of fighting, he says in the audio. Pertinent to mention here that Ahtisham was injured on in clashes between two groups of students at Sharda University. He was assaulted because he was mistaken as an Afghan national by his attackers. Earlier on Thursday Family Members of Ethisham assembled at Press Enclave Srinagar to seek the whereabouts of him. Family Members while carrying the photograph of their Ethisham were seen disturbed with tears in their eyes. Ethisham family was in shock when they saw pictures on social media of their believed and appealed to him to return home. We were in shock when we saw his pictures. However, Police official told KNO that we are verifying the facts whether he joined Militant Ranks or not, added that we are ascertaining the veracity of the Clip. They added further said that unlike other Militants, Ehtisham did not have possession of any gun as shown in the pictures which have gone viral on Social media.(KNO)
