Srinagar, November 03 (KNO) : The higher reaches as well the plains of Kashmir Valley including Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, ending the several months long dry spell in Kashmir valley. The higher reaches continued to experience fresh snowfall since Friday morning while as Srinagar experienced season’s first snowfall this afternoon, brining the temperature further down here. The snowfall has also resulted in the closure of Srinagar-Leh and Mughal roads here.Besides, the incessant night-long rains lashed the plains of the Valley, forcing people to put up woolen wear. In this afternoon, Srinagar also experienced season’s first snowfall. Due to the rains and snowfall since Thursday evening, most of the roads in Srinagar got inundated in Srinagar thereby leaving the pedestrians to suffer.
However, SMC officials told KNO that that the corporation has geared up to tackle the situation and said that most of the places were dewatered. The heating appliances though out on the markets for sale but several hour long power break down has started irritating people in valley as rains and snowfall continued in Kashmir since Thursday evening. Power supply in most parts of the Valley was immediately snapped even in Srinagar plunging city centre areas into darkness for hours. Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Sonam Lotus aid that the weather conditions in Kashmir would improve from tomorrow.(KNO)
