Srinagar, November 06 (KNO) : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Mohd Ashraf Sehraie Tuesday said that the best tribute towards Martyrs is that we should refrain from such actions, which may damage our mission. “What India is doing is Genocide? Kashmiris have endured tremendous suffering and hardships, but there is no choice but to continue struggle. These Martyrs are our hero’s and their sacrifices are part of golden history of our resistance,” Sehraie said in a statement issued to KNO. While paying tributes to Mohd Idrees Sultan and Amir Hussain Rather, Sehraie said, “The Kashmiri people were facing the worst kind of Indian state terrorism but despite that they would take their liberation movement to its logical conclusion. Our freedom movement gained momentum and our brave hearts are challenging India and its hegemony.” He said, “Since last 30years in particular not a day has passed without the loss of young Kashmiri men, women and children who, found greater dignity and freedom in martyrdom than they did in obedient, passive living controlled by those who dared to dictate the parameters of their lives.” Sehraie appealed for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss India’s outrageous violence against Kashmiris. He also called on OIC and all fair and reasonable people in the world to stand by the defenceless Kashmiri people. Terming Nov 6, 1947, as the “blackest day” in the history of Kashmir, Sehraie said that “on this day lakhs of Muslims were massacred in Jammu region by the communal forces patronized by the rulers.” “It was on this day when lakhs of Jammu Muslims were driven out of their homes and butchered by communal forces,” he said while paying tributes to Jammu martyrs and said “the massacre was carried out to change the demography of the region.” He said the communal forces had desperately tried to repeat these acts in recent past as well. “VDCs and other fascist groups that have become a symbol of state terrorism in Jammu belt, is a glaring example of this. Till date this massacre stands as one of the worst human tragedies where innocent men, women and children were massacred in cold blood,” Sehraie said.(KNO)
