Advocate Rajawat dropped from Rassana case, family moves application | KNO

Srinagar, November 15 (KNO): Advocate Deepika Singh Rajawat who was pleading the case of Rassana nomad girl who was brutally killed after being raped in January this year has been dropped from the case by the family. The family as per reports has moved an application to drop their lawyer, Advocate Rajawat from the case. While pleading the case of Rassana nomad girl, the lawyer had faced life threats and faced immense hardships since taking up the case. However, Advocate Rajawat while talking to KNO thanked the people for supporting her during the period of pleading the case, saying that the family has decided to drop her from the case and she cannot resist the move. She added that in view of the hearings of several other cases at Jammu High court, she couldn’t attend the trails at a Pathankot Court several times. Recalling the fight for ensuing justice to Rassana family, Advocate Rajawat said she did every possible thing to ensure justice be delivered to the nomad girl who was brutally raped and murdered earlier this year. All the accused in the case have been arrested by the police and are under custody, police had said.(KNO)
