Srinagar, November 22 (KNO) : Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference vice president, Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that his party was ready to extend support to forge an alliance with PDP to form the next dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir. Omar while talking to media persons during a presser here at hotel Sarovar said that the decision to extend support to PDP to form the government was taken after thorough deliberations with an aim to protect the special status of the state, saying that the talks to form the government was done to protect Article 35-A and 370. According to KNO correspondent, He added that the government if formed was supposed to fall once the special status is protected, saying it was planned to form the government to ensure the sentiments of people are not hurt. “PDP had asked us for a letter of support but I told them I can’t give it without discussing with NC core group,” he said, adding that NC was supposed to hold a core group meeting today to take a final call in this regard. However, he said that the party was ready to extend support. Responding to Governor’s allegations of horse-trading, Omar said, “Governor said that there is horse trading, money being exchanged. Who was doing all this, if the governor had reports then it should be found who was exchanging money. People have the right to know says.” To another question over allegations of Pakistan’s support by BJP’s Ram Madhav, Omar said, “Ram Madhav you are insulting my colleagues who have died. My workers have died and you are telling us that we are dancing on the tunes of Pakistan. If you are brave enough show us the evidence or apologise.” He said that Farooq Abdullah was first offered the Chief Ministerial post but he refused and was later offered to him but they refused. (KNO)
