Srinagar, November 22 (KNO) : Expressing serious concern over the shifting of prisoners from Jammu and Kashmir to outside jails, Hurriyat Conference (M) termed the move not only against the principles of democracy besides a blatant violation of the Supreme Court guidelines.  Hurriyat (M) in a statement issued to KNO said that shifting Kashmiri prisoners to various prisons across India sans justification and that the step has cleared that rule of law doesn’t exist here as Kashmir was directly ruled by the lakhs of forces present here. The spokesman said that “the mass shifting of Kashmiri prisoners to outside prisons is being done clandestinely without informing their respective families which has added to the miseries’ of the parents whose loved ones have been languishing in jails for their only crime of demanding Kashmir resolution.” “Figures collected by the Hurriyat reveal that in the past two months, ten Pakistan prisoners who were in State jails have been shifted New Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail while as 23 political prisoners that include Mushtaqul Islam, Feroz Ahmed Khan, Bashrat Ahmed Mir, Lateef Ahmed Rather,  Manzoor Ahmed Najar, Showkat Ahmed Ganai,, Ghulam Hassan Shah, Manzoor Ahmed Ganai, Imtiyaz Ahmed Dar, Abdul Majeed Mir, Naseer Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Aziz Lone, Irfan Ahmed Lone, Zafarul Islam, Imtiyaz Ahmed  Mir, Farooq Ahmed Bhat , Bashir Ahmed Qureshi, Bashir Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Shafi Dar , Khursheed Ahmed Parray, Firdous Ahmed Parray, Shakeel Ahmed Thokar and others  have been shifted to Haryana prison against total violation of the Supreme Court ruling, “ spokesman said. Hurriyat (M) said that two years ago, the resistance leaders and a business man that include Shabir Ahmed Shah, Advocate Shahidul Islam, Altaf Fantosh, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Mehrajudin Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shahid Yousuf, businessman Zahoor Watali, women resistance leaders Asiya Andrabi along with two aides, Fehmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen continue languish in Tihar Jail after being booked by the NIA under ‘fictitious charges’. The spokesman said even after passage of two years, NIA failed to substantiate any evidence against these leaders and instead finds ways and means to prolong their illegal detention. He said at least 2200 political prisoners are lodged in various jails of the State and against them there are no charges other than the one they demand right to self determination. “Jammu and Kashmir is actually being governed and ruled by the forces who have broken all records of human rights and have converted entire Kashmir into a military State while as series of steps are being taken to push the resistance leadership and the people into submission,” he said. Hurriyat (M) urged all the world forums to take serious note of the ultimate repression being unleashed in Kashmir and worst ever human rights violations being committed by the lakhs of forces here and to build pressure on New Delhi to put an end to the rights abuses in the Valley.(KNO)
