Shopian, November 24 (KNO) :The killing of a former SPO from South Kashmir's Shopian district by the unknown gunmen has shattered the dreams of a family who have lost their lone son. Basharat Ahmad Wagay, son of Bashir Ahmad Wagay of Reban Shopian whose dead body was found in orchards of Nikloora village of Pulwama district was a lone son of Wagay family and a father of few months old son. Pertinently, unknown gunmen on Friday evening abducted three  persons from Reban village who were identified by police as Riyaz Ahmad, Zahid Ahmad and Basharat Ahmad (former SPO). However, on Late Friday evening, the dead body of former SPO was found in Nikloora area and two others freed before his killing, a police official said. Sources told KNO, his bullet-riddled body was found barely few metres away from the spot where the dead body of Nadeem Manzoor was found before few days who according to police was killed by Hizb militants.Basharat according to locals was son of a police officer and was working in police department as SPO from which he has resigned recently. He had got married before two years in his native village, they told KNO, adding that his only sister is also married and now Wagay family has neither any son nor any daughter at home. Belonging to a well off family, Basharat's house is barely few metres from the house where two Al-badr militants including Nawaz Ahmad of his own community were killed on last Sunday. Meanwhile, Hizb has released a video in which Basharat is accepting that he tipped off the forces about the presence of Nawaz and his associate for his promotion. Notably in last one week about one dozen youth have been abducted by unknown gunmen, among them two namely Nadeem Manzoor of Safnagri Shopian and Huzaif Kuttay of Manzgam Kulgam were killed and Parvaiz Ahmed of Butmuran Shopian was injured while as others were freed unhurt. A senior police official said that Hizb and Al Badr militants have jointly killed him. A case has been registered in concerned police station and further investigation is going on, he said.(KNO)
