Winter vacation announced in Kashmir, winter zones of Jammu division | KNO

Students up to class 8 to observe vacation from Dec 06

Srinagar, November 29 (KNO) : Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Thursday announced winter vacation in Kashmir province and winter zone areas of Jammu division from December 04, saying that the vacation shall be observed from Dec 06, 2018. According to an order issued by the DSEK under number 933-Edu of 2018, dated 29-11-2018, a copy of which lies with KNO reads that “it is hereby ordered that the government and private recognized schools of Kashmir division and winter zone areas of Jammu division, shall observe winter vacation from 04-12-2018.” “The last date working day of classes up to 8th standard shall be 04-12-2018 and the winter vacation shall be observed w.e.f 06-12-2018 to 02-03-2019.   The last working day of classes up from 9th standard onwards in Kashmir/winter zones of Jammu division shall be 15-12-2018. Winter vacation shall be observed w.e.f. 17-12-2018 to 23-02-2019,” the order reads. It adds that it is further ordered that the officials associated with the conduct of practical examinations, if any, shall avail winter vacation, only after conclusion of practical examinations and the officials required to undergo trainings as per schedule already notified by the Chief Education Officers shall compulsory attend the training programmes. The teaching faculty shall report for duties in advance on February 22, 2019 to supervise the arrangements for reopening of schools.(KNO)
