Srinagar, December 01 (KNO) : Muslim League (ML) chairman, Masarat Aalam was not presented to court, as was directed by court, a spokesman said on Saturday. Alam was to be presented in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Srinagar but due to some unknown reasons authorities violated the court orders and didn't present him before court, ML spokesman said in a statement issued to KNO. Sajad Ayoubi, ML spokesman said that “Masarat Aalam Bhat was scheduled to be presented before the court but authorities don't pay heed on the court orders.” “Indian authorities tarnish the image and stature of its own judiciary by not respecting them. It is the worst form of human rights violation and a glaring example of political vendetta,” Ayoubi said. Ayoubi added that not presenting Masrat Aalam before the Court is “an attempt to prolong their illegal detention and suppress our freedom movement.” “Indian authorities are using these tactics to prolong the illegal detention of Masrat Aalam Bhat, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Feroz Ahmad Khan, Assadullah Parray, M Molvi Sajad, Mohammad Hayat Bhat, Showkat Hakeem, Mehraj-ud-din Nanda, M Mohammad Amin Dar, Waheed Ahmad Gojree and of all other detainees languishing in different jails. But these tactics will not deter us from pursuing our goal of freedom,” Ayoubi added.(KNO)
