Srinagar, December 03 (KNO) : On eve of international disability day, scores of specially-abled persons including men and women held a protest against the authorities for failing to provide the social care and facilities to all them. According to KNO correspondent, the specially-abled persons marched from main town Kupwara to Chief Medical Officers (CMO) office, alleging him of neglecting them and failing to provide the amenities. Scores of specially-abled persons assembled outside CMO office Kupwara and raised anti-hospital sloganeering.
Protesting specially-abled persons alleged Chief Medical Officer of neglecting them at every font. A few months ago, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara issued a circular regarding the special reservation of specially-abled persons but so far none of the district official has availed any such facility in their favour, Lateef Ahmad a protester said.“We don’t get reservation as per the norms issued by government of Jammu and Kashmir which is 4%, many among us are well qualified and are capable to excel in any field, despite filing forms in different fields none has been so far accommodated in any job,” Lateef said. They later demanded authorities provide benefits to them.(KNO)
