Hit and run case of Soura solved, accused arrested | KNO

Srinagar, December 03 (KNO) : Soura police on Monday claimed to have solved hit and run case by arresting an accused in this regard. Police spokesman said that on November 26, a pedestrian was mowed down by an unknown vehicle at 90 feet road, who was brought dead to SKIMS.The deceased was identified as Abdul Hameed Lone, son of Late Ab Ahad Lone of Shah-i- Hamdan Colony Ahmadnagar, Srinagar.During investigating at the accident spot, eye-witnesses confirmed the vehicle as 207 Tata mobile white colour. During further investigation, Police station Soura, scanned the CCTV footages from nearby ATM’s and shops to check the registration number of vehicle, however the footage couldn’t show much in detail. After indepth investigation and help from various sources, police in a statement issued to KNO said that it was successful in locating the driver The accused has been identified as Mehraj-u-din Shalbaf, son of Ali Mohammed of Umerhair Buchpora and vehicle registered as JK01M-2575.Police have taken the accused into custody for further proceedings.(KNO)
