Srinagar, December 03 (KNO) : Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior leader of BJP Kavinder Gupta on Monday toured Channi area extensively and started the lane upgradation work of the interior lanes of Sector 3, which was long pending demand of the inhabitants of Chhanni.Officials from Public Works Department and party activists including Neena Gupta, Vinay Gupta, Kulbir Charak, Ishant Gupta, Balwan Singh among others were present on the occasion. On the occasion, Gupta as per a statement issued to KNO said that momentum of the developmental works has been accelerated with the election of Councillors to JMC and they are working vigorously for the development of their respective wards. “There will be no compromise with quality of work and special care will be taken in execution of different works so that the people don’t have to suffer in the future. The life of the roads is also going to increased and will not break down easily,” he added. He had promised to make this constituency a model one and providing good roads is the first step towards it.Gupta affirmed that it is the need of the hour to wipe out Congress, which has failed on all fronts and that a Congress Mukt Bharat is the solution to all problems. “The victory of our candidates in JMC polls has proved that Congress is no more choice of the people and they are fast associating with BJP,” he said.He also said that there should be a direct comparison between the works of the BJP led governments at the centre with the Congress or its coalitions of more than 60 years. It will be clear as to who performed to the expectations of the people. Gupta expressed confidence that on any issue, be it jobs, building roads, welfare schemes, national security, economic affairs; NDA Government would emerge in flying colours.Gupta categorically stated that the Congress leaders are trying to befool the public on one or the other pretext but, Congress is falling like a pack of cards and that the new generations will never accept their actions. He was apprised of the problems being faced by the residents of the area related to lanes, water supply, maintenance of parks and the distribution transformers. He gave a patient hearing to the genuine problems and said that the works for some lanes have already been approved and shall be started soon. For the problem related to the park in Sector 3, he assured that he will take up the matter with the Government and get the project approved and executed. Neena Gupta, Councillor Ward 50, thanked Kavinder Gupta for being always available to serve the people of the constituency and assured the public that she also shall try to get remaining works approved from the JMC at the earliest so that people are provided with the better civic amenities.(KNO)
