In continuation of HR week, Separatist leaders placed under hose detention, detained | KNO

Srinagar, December 04 (KNO) : In the ongoing Human rights week, the separatist leaders including top three leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have been put either under house detention or taken into the police custody.Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) had appealed people to observe Human Rights week from December 03 to December 08 and asked people to stage protests. However, most of the leaders have been placed either under house detention or detained. Geelani continues to remain under house arrest from last eight years while as the authorities recently allowed him to visit his son-in-laws house at Sopore who died after brief illness. Mirwaiz was placed under house detention on Monday again in view of ongoing Human rights week while as Malik who continues to remain under police custody from past month was admitted at SKIMS here due to his bad health conditions. Meanwhile, separatist leaders told KNO scores of other pro-freedom leaders have also detained by the police and have been lodged at different police stations.(KNO)
