Srinagar, December 04 (KNO) : Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) General Secretary, Usman Majid on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating power supply in Bandipora constituency. In a statement issued to KNO, Majid said electricity is playing hide and seek in Bandipora. “Frequent power cuts resulting unbearable hardships to the people and the students as well,” he said, adding that it is unfortunate that PDD department has failed to ensure adequate power supply.
“No power schedule is being followed on ground and even metered areas are facing long and unscheduled power cuts much to the annoyance of public. The transmission and distribution system has also deteriorated thereby depriving the consumers of vital electricity facility,” he said. Majid urged Governor Satya Pal Malik and DDC Bandipora, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary to take immediate steps on war footing basis to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Bandipora. He also urged PDD officials to take note of the pesky power cuts in Bandipora on fast track basis.(KNO)
