Class 11th student finds solace in arms, picture goes viral; Police says veracity being ascertained | KNO

Bandipora, December 05 (KNO) : Even as the anti-militancy operations by the forces has been increased with nearly 35 militants killed in last month, the youth from the Valley continue to find solace in the arms as one more youth, a minor from Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has reportedly joined the militant ranks. A picture of a missing youth from Khankah Mohalla of Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, identified as Mudasir Rashid Parray has went viral on social media in which a reportedly missing youth could be seen holding AK47 gun and a knife. Sources said that, after more than three months, the picture of the missing youth today appeared on social media in which he is seen posing with an AK47 rifle and a knife.Mudasir Rashid Parray of Khankah Mohalla of Hajin town along with another 16-year-old Bilal Ahmad had gone missing since 31 August this year, after an encounter took place in Parray Mohalla of Hajin town in which three foreign militants were killed. Among the two, Mudasir had reportedly joined militant ranks, though the outfit he is affiliated with was not known yet.Mudasir is said to be a student of 11th standard.Despite searching him at all possible locations, the family could not trace the missing teenager.Family sources said that he has not returned even after pleas from his mother.Earlier, the family had lodged a missing complaint in Hajin Police Station after failing to contact him.Local sources said that, this is not a first case in Hajin town, it is the sixth such incident, which took place in the area after the mass uprising of 2016.A police official said that police is authenticity of the picture is ascertained.“Yes, we too saw his photograph holding a gun, but we are verifying the facts,” he said.(KNO)
