JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for protests against the unabated human rights violations inflicting on Kashmiris including the killings, arrests, torture, detention of pro freedom leaders and activists, vandalisation of properties, chattels, orchards, perpetrated by forces in every nook and corner of the entire valley, in order to crush the sentiments and silence the voices of freedom which they have been miserable failed.
“Authorities desperately trying to hide these gross human rights abuses by not even allowing the candle and torch protests and forcibly deprive the brutalized people to register their peaceful protests which are just aimed to invoking the attention on international community about the oppressive tactics unleashed by Indian forces in Kashmir valley,” Hurriyat (G) said. “We again reiterated our appeal to international community and all human rights organizations to take a serious note of such brazen Indian aggression on unarmed and defenseless Kashmiris and to make progressive efforts, rather than occasional condemnation, for the resolution of this long standing dispute as promised by the UN through its UNSC resolutions,” the statement issued to KNO added. Hurriyat leaders said that the forces and police have unleashed yet another arrest spree to sabotage these peaceful protests, and so far hundreds of pro-freedom workers and youth have been arrested and restricted Hurriyat leadership to their houses and jails.(KNO)
