Wachi residents stage protest, demand Degree College | KNO

Srinagar, December 06 (KNO) : Inhabitants of Wachi village in Shopian district on Thursday staged a demonstration in Srinagar against what they termed as the failure of administration to provide Degree College to the village, consisting of 10,000 households.The villagers assembled at Srinagar’s Press Enclave here and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’. They also carried placards reading slogans ‘we want justice, we want degree college’.They said that the administration has failed to allot Degree College to the village.“Everything has been finalized but the Deputy Commissioner (DC) seems reluctant to ensure Degree College to the village and is taking no step for the well being of the student community,” they said. The villagers as per KNO correspondent said that the students including Boys and girls are being forced to walk miles to reach the Degree College as there is no Degree College in the village at present.They said that the administration must allot Degree College at an earliest so that the villagers especially the students could heave a sigh of relief.(KNO)
