ISI agent arrested, major attack averted: Police | KNO

Srinagar, December 07 (KNO) : Kishtwar police on Friday claimed to have arrested an “enemy agent”, saying that he was gathering information on Police, Armed Forces and other establishments for attacks. “In a major achievement, District Police Kishtwar arrested a person namely Sehran Sheikh @ Abu Zubair, son of Ghulam Abbas Sheikh of Malipeth Kishtwar working as an enemy agent, who was gathering information on the establishments of J&K Police, Armed Forces and Army deployment within District Kishtwar led by ISI agent sitting across the border in Pakistan,” police said as per KNO correspondent. “The ISI individual has been arrested by the Police. He had come in contact with Pakistan and Harkat-Ul-Mujahideen organization sitting across the border. He was gathering information on Police, Armed Forces and security establishments for terrorist attacks. There were inputs that banned organization are using this enemy agents to carryout terror attacks on Belt Forces in the District,” police said.“Sehran confessed his involvement and Police has found many videos including establishments of Para-military Forces having been exchanged on Pakistan numbers. With his arrest, Police has averted a major attack from ISI agent and pak based organization in the district,” they said.(KNO)
