Srinagar, December 07 (KNO) : Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that Governor Satya Pal Malik was encroaching the democratic space in the state.
Mehbooba as per KNO correspondent while addressing a presser said that the Governor is issuing orders that are not in the favour of common man. She also asked Governor Malik to stop fiddling with the constitutional status of J&K till a popular government is in place.
Mehbooba said that Governor Malik is a well respected and a seasoned politician. "Expect him to leave legislative decisions to the popular government," she said. However, she said that if Ladakh is given a divisional status then Pir Panchal, and Chenab Valley should also be given the same status or else the local parties including the independents will start an agitation.
Reacting to the former Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu’s decision to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party, Mehbooba said: “I am sad at his departure. He was called by Mufti Sahab with love. Anyway, I wish him good luck.”*(KNO)
