Wrath laying ceremony for slain border-man held | KNO

Srinagar, December 07 (KNO) : A solemn wreath laying ceremony was on Friday held at BSF Frontier HQ Jammu for Ct Prosenjit Biswas. Floral tributes were paid by all ranks for the sacrifice made by Ct Prosenjt Biswas for the glory of the nation, a statement issued to KNO reads. Earlier on 06 Dec 2018, in late afternoon, Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in Sunderbani area on the Line of Control, resulting in one BSF person get killed and another injured. In the incident happened, Ct Prosenjit Biswas and Ct Mansa Ram were critically injured. “Immediate resuscitation and medical aid was provided to the bordermen and they were evacuated to Jammu. However, Ct Prosenjit Biswas could not survive the gunshot wound and succumbed to the injuries,” the statement issued here said. The occasion was attended by Ram Awtar, IG BSF, Dr S D Jamwal, IGP Jammu, Rahul Sharma Asst Div Com, Ramesh Kumar, DC Jammu, Dushyant Singh SSP Rural Jammu. IG BSF stated that Ct Prosenjit Biswas was a brave and sincere borderman. The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty. Border Security Force has retaliated strongly and effectively on Pakistan Army posts. The sacrifice of the Borderman will not go in vain, the statement added. The mortal remains of the slain Borderman will be sent by air to Kolkata and then to his native place vill - Balla Shisha, Distt - Nadia, West Bengal. In this hour of grief, forces stand in solidarity with his bereaved family.(KNO)
