DGP grants scholarship for 80 wards of deceased police personnel | KNO

Jammu, December 07 (KNO): Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh on Friday granted scholarship of Rs four lac in favour of 80 wards of deceased police personnel, who have died while in service due to natural, accidental deaths. The wards who have been granted scholarship include 38 wards reading in different schools up to Middle standard, 33 in higher secondary level and 9 are in under graduate classes. According to a statement issued to KNO, Rupees five thousand each have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund for the academic year 2018-2019. “The scholarships are granted every year for the school going children of deceased police personnel to provide them assistance in pursuing education,” he said. Welfare schemes under different heads have been introduced for the welfare of children of serving, deceased police personnel and martyrs to provide them a succor so that they could continue their education. Various police wards are benefited under these schemes every year.(KNO)
