PDD workers rallies towards Civil Secretariat over release of pending wages | KNO

Jammu, December 18 (KNO) : Hundreds of casual workers of Power Development Department (PDD) of Jammu region on Tuesday carried out a protest rally towards Civil Secretariat Jammu against the government for failing to release their salaries since long. PDD Casual workers under the banner of PDD Need based and Casual Labourer Workers Union assembled in the premises of Chief Engineering EM&RE Wing Jammu and marched towards Civil Secretariat Jammu via Canal Road, Jewel Chowk, B C Road and culminated at Indira Chowk. The rally was carried out by the employees to highlight their demands and to press for the fulfillment of their demands. They raised slogans in favour of their demands including release of their pending wages and release of monthly wages from wage head. Union President Akhil Sharma while addressing the media said, “The present and previous governments had cheated on every occasion and not interested in resolving our long pending issues and problems being faced by casual workers including their pending wages which are still pending with PPD so far.” He further stressed upon Governor Satya Pal Malik to release long pending wages including monthly payments from wage head (Outsourcing).(KNO)
