Uttrakhand, December 21 (KNO) : In a Major tragedy, Eight Labourers from Uri area of Baramulla District in Northern Kashmir were killed in a landslide near the construction site of Char Dham all-weather road in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand here on today.
The incident took place near Banswada on the Rishikesh-Kedarnath national highway. An official told KNO that Rescue work was started immediately without any delay. He said that operation is Underway and seven bodies were recovered from debris and the injured have been rushed to nearby Hospital.
The deceased were identified as Bilal Ahmad, Sabir Ahmad, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad, Zahoor Hamid Sheikh, Gulzar Ahmad and all are residents of Uri area of Baramulla District. Meanwhile Rudraprayag district magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.(KNO)
