Sopore, December 22 (KNO) : The inhabitants of Kanispora area of Baramulla in north Kashmir on Saturday staged a protest against Power Development Department (PDD) and demanded repair of a damaged transformer in the area. Residents while blaming the administration for not attending to their grievances said that they are facing hardships since past one week. According to KNO correspondent, the residents alleged that PDD department has failed to repair their damaged transformer, saying “in the absence of electricity, our children are most affected as they are unable to prepare for the examinations.” The protesting residents said they would be forced to launch an agitation if their grievances are not resolved at earliest. However, a team of police reached the spot and assured the protestors that matter will be taken up with the higher authorities. Meanwhile, authorities at PDD department Baramulla told KNO that they have received a damaged transformer few days back and “our efforts are on to repair it.”(KNO)
