Srinagar, December 31 (KNO) : Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday appealed people to observe upcoming Friday as ‘Youm-e-Taqaddus’. This was stated by Mirwaiz while addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid regarding recent ‘attempt to desecrate Jamia Masjid’s pulpit’. Mirwaiz also appealed that the surrounding areas of Jamia Masjid Srinagar will offer Friday congregational prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid on January 04. “JRL has decided to commemorate the coming Friday as ‘Youm-e-Taqaddus’ and people in general and specifically surrounding areas will ‘make it a point that they offer congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid’. “On Friday all the nearby areas should follow the program that no Friday prayers will be offered in adjoining areas specially and all should converge at Jamia,” he said, adding that on Wednesday after Zuhar prayers people are asked to converge at Jamia for cleansing purposes after it was desecrated by those who want ‘Islam loving people to divide’. “There have been continuous conspiracies since long to break the centrality of Jamia Masjid, as a political, cultural center of Muslims. However since many such operations have failed now some agencies have come up to break our ranks by disguising as Islam lovers,” Mirwaiz said, post JRL meeting at Syed Ali Geelani’s residence. According to KNO correspondent, he said that all the organization, including militant organization have condemned these vested interests. “They are being used by agencies and we will uncover them soon,” he said, adding that ‘time has come to throw these people out, who use Islam to create divisions among Muslims of the state, from our ranks.’(KNO)
