Jammu, January 03 (KNO): PDP District Vice President, Ramban Parvez Ahmed Sheikh joined the National Conference in presence of Provincial President Devender Singh Rana and other senior leaders. Welcoming Sheikh into the party fold, at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here, Devender Singh Rana said National Conference is natural destination for all those public spirited political activists, who want to work for political stability, unity between various religions and regions, peace and progress of all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. According to a statement issued to KNO, he said joining of political leaders like Sheikh reflects the growing realization among the people that National Conference is the only party that can uphold their dignity and steer the state to a new era of peace, progress and development. “History stands testimony to the crucial role of National Conference in forging unity and amity between various segments of the society in all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh”, he said and hoped that the cadre will bequeath this spirit to posterity. He said communal amity has been the richest legacy of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, who strived all his life to sustain this glorious tradition of the State. Rana said with the joining of political activists into the party across the state, National Conference will be further strengthened at the grass roots level and play its designated role towards the wellbeing of the people and heralding a new era of hope. Welcoming Sheikh, NC District President Ramban Sajjad Shaheen expressed the hope that with his joining National Conference will be further strengthened at the grass roots level and help in serving the people of remote and far off areas like Banihal.(KNO)
