Srinagar, January 04 (KNO) : Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday condemned the prolonged incarceration of JKLF leaders Nazir Ahmad Sheikh (Lifer), Assadullah Sheikh and ailing Ghulam Nabi Kashmiri who are languishing in Kot-balwal Jail Jammu from a long time. “All these incarcerated political activists’ are suffering from different ailments and have been kept hundreds of miles away from their families,” Malik said in a statement issued to KNO. “They are not being provided with any medical facility and their health is actually deteriorating day by day,” Malik said, adding that Sheikh Nazir Ahmad is serving a life sentence and was shifted from central jail Srinagar to Jammu a year ago and from that time he is being denied a visit from his family. “Assadullah Sheikh of Kulgam who is detained under PSA is also ailing from a long time and was not even allowed to participate in funeral prayers and mourning of his father who expired recently,” Malik added. Similar is the case of Ghulam Nabi Kashmiri of Kulgam who is also detained under PSA and is a chronic diabetic patient. Kulgam police is constantly denying justice to him and despite court orders and is not producing him before the court which is highly condemnable, the statement said. Meanwhile, the statement said that incarcerated JKLF leaders Siraj Ud Din Mir and Abdul Rashid Magloo who’s PSA have been quashed by high court have been again shifted to Baramulla jail on a judicial remand. After quashing of PSA, both these inmates had been brought to Police Station Kreeri Pattan and today produced before a court which has send them to Baramulla jail on a remand, the statement added. Meanwhile, Malik expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of Muhammad Sideeq Dabla of Kokerbazar Srinagar who breathed his last today. Deceased was the uncle of social activist and well-wisher Shabir Ahmad Dabla. JKLF chairman while paying tributes to the deceased, prayed for his heavenly abode and for Sabr-I-Jamil to his bereaved family. JKLF chairman along with a delegation visited Koker-Bazar and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.(KNO)
