Tral Encounter : Militant killed, CRPF man injured, Search on | KNO

Tral, January 05 (KNO) : A militant was killed and a CRPF has been injured in exchange of fire between the militants and the government in Aripal village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Eyewitness told KNO that the house in which the militants were trapped was set on fire by the forces, following which the firing stopped. Official sources confirmed KNO that one militant has been killed during encounter whose identification is being ascertained while as search operation is on in the area. Earlier gunfight broke out after the forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area after a tip-off about the presence of two to three militants in a residential house on Saturday morning. As the forces intensified search towards the suspected house, the militants hiding there opened fire, triggering a gunfight. Soon after news of encounter spread in the area, clashes broke out at many places in the area.(KNO)
