Srinagar, January 05 (KNO) : Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the tragedy in which five family members of Tangdar died due to asphyxiation at Bemina, AIP President Er Rasheed on Saturday visited JVC Hospital to monitor the arrangement for airlifting the dead bodies. According to a statement issued to KNO, Er Rasheed also talked to Chief Secretary and other top officials of the administration to provide chopper services to airlift the dead bodies of ill-fated family and they assured of full co-operation from their side. On the occasion, Er Rasheed said that today’s incident yet again exposes the failure of the government to construct a much needed tunnel at Sadhna top. “It is unfortunate that successive governments every time promised to construct a tunnel at Sadhna but every promise just added salt to the injuries of thousands of inhabitants of Karnah,” he said. “Isn’t it shameful that on one hand New Delhi claims not to surrender even an inch of territory under its control, but the ill-fated people of Karnah have to beg every time even to get back their dead bodies,” he said, adding that is anything more shameful than the fact that the dead body of a women is laying at Sadhna top since last two days for the want of road clearance. Er Rasheed added that all what New Delhi has gifted to the border areas is cross LOC shelling, forced labor, tanks, arms and ammunition and huge presence of military and para-military forces. “Let New Delhi keep every inch of Jammu & Kashmir especially that of Karnah and likewise areas but it has no right to make life of the inhabitants worse than the hell,” he said. He added that it would be appreciable and big favour, if people of Karnah, Keren, Gurez and likewise areas are allowed to migrate to other side of LOC and New Delhi keeps every single inch of the land under its occupation. “If Pakistani’s could feed and ensure a dignified life to 50 Lac Afghan refugees, it should not be difficult to help people of Karnah to settle in Pakistan administered Kashmir, which is their own territory by all means,” he added.(KNO)
